Comeback Camp

comeback 1

A very cool mining camp in the mountains of central Idaho.
A huge two story bunkhouse and a cabin remain, along with numerous other artifacts.

comeback 2

The exterior staircase appeared to be about to fall off the structure, so to be safe, we volunteered Cat to conduct structural integrity tests on the steps.
Cat walked vewy, vewy, cawefully up and when they didn’t collapse on her in a mess of lumber and nails, we followed.

comeback 3

The upstairs was as trashed as the rest of the building from vandalism and weather. In pictures from the 1970’s, this building still had almost all of its glass windows intact.

comeback 6

A view from the 2nd story of our exploring and raiding party vehicles.

comeback 4

Outside was a 3-seat outhouse with one separate stall, presumably for the female cooks and housekeepers. Notice the bent sheetmetal urinal on the left side! It drains into a hole of its own.

We also found another cabin and the remains of another cabin and a workshop.

comeback 8

The view from the bunkhouse.

comeback 5

Below the camp, we found an odd water tank made from 2 x 6 lumber stacked sideways.
