Placerville Idaho

placerville

In true Ghost Town Rally fashion, we invaded the small town and set out exploring.

Placerville is an old town, but it’s not even close to a ghost town! Several hardy souls live through the frozen Idaho winters here.
Placerville has two museums, a store and gas station, along with an inviting town park

We weren’t the only invaders: Placerville has the only store and gas station for miles around. The area is popular for camping and recreational mining. The roads in and around Placerville were buzzing with the highest concentration of ATV’s and dirt bikes I have ever seen outside of a racing event!

It was nice to see numerous historic buildings and homes that are well-cared for.

The Placerville cemetery is a pleasant forested place with a suprising number of old graves.  Cat, our resident graveyard freak, gave this cemetery two thumbs up for coolness.
