The Western Slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains presents some interesting challenges for the off-road explorer. Unlike Nevada which is 95% public land, the Western slope is 90% private property. Brush fires and progress have erased many sites, but here and there, this is still a LOT to see. After all, the Western Slope is the heart of the Mother Lode, the area where it all started!
